Guests Kelsey Tortorice and Drew Levanti help me recap NORWAC, the Northwest Astrological Conference that takes place in Seattle, Washington annually. Hear us talk about the lectures we loved, suggestions future conferences could consider, and of course, awkward social moments. This was Drew's first astrology conference, Kelsey's first NORWAC, and my third conference. We discuss the post-conference comedown and how to keep long distance friendships thriving. We even offer our takes on the recent Twitter discussion – whether “Muggle” is an appropriate term for non-astrologers or not. ...
Midnight Moon Astrology Podcast #1 – ARIES: James Potter and Fred & George Weasley (Hogwarts Astrology Series)
Take an in depth look at the zodiac sign of Aries through the lens of the Aries characters in the Harry Potter books: James Potter and Fred & George Weasley, the twins. J.K. Rowling purposely gave characters birthdays that corresponded with Sun signs that matched their personalities. This episode of the Midnight Moon Astrology Podcast contains all information from the Aries article on my website, along with additional examples from the Harry Potter series, plus extra content, such as what J.K. Rowling thinks of Aries, the family dynamic between characters based on their Sun signs ...
Uranus in Taurus: Predict the Unpredictable
Chaotic Uranus ingresses into Taurus for the second time on March 6, 2019. It first moved into Taurus on May 15, 2018, before retrograding back into Aries, but will now remain in the sign of the Bull until July 2026. Uranus is known for its eccentricity and impulse to shake up whatever territory it touches. It can represent the maverick or the rebel, and compared to stodgy Taurus, Uranus embraces change with open arms. Think of a houseguest that rushes from room to room, handling your luxurious, fragile, or treasured items: this is Uranus visiting the house of Taurus. On the other hand, Ura ...
Sun Conjunct Saturn in Capricorn: You Can Do This! (Or Else)
We all know Sun conjunct Saturn can manifest in a horde of negative ways – which is why I want to focus on some of the positive ones as we begin 2019. This doesn’t void more challenging manifestations, but if you’re looking for self-discipline & long-term goal setting (or just wish you could keep those New Year’s resolutions!), this is your aspect. Whenever a planet conjuncts the Sun, it begins a new cycle. Think of it like a rebirth for the planet in question. While the Moon is associated with birth, the Sun initiates a *rebirth* of every planet that falls under his beams and emerges a ...
12th House: Between Worlds
Why can the 12th house indicate both suffering & internal spirituality? For many though not all, suffering leads to a larger focus on spirituality (or introspection, meditation, etc.). Saturn, lord of boundaries, has its joy in the 12th, & containment inside boundaries can often equal suffering (prisons, hospitals, other 12th house significations), while being outside boundaries can mean spirituality/enlightenment. In other contexts, such as the 7th house, staying within boundaries isn't necessarily a negative thing, but in the 12th, they can feel limiting, unless we find a way t ...
Zodiac Signs as Honeydukes Candy
In honor of the 2nd Fantastic Beasts movie, Crimes of Grindelwald, released this weekend, here's an astrology meme featuring Honeydukes candy!
Zodiac Signs as Halloween Candy
Some lighthearted Halloween fun! Have mixed feelings about astrology memes since I don't want to perpetuate any stereotypes, but these are all in jest. Happy Halloween & Samhain!
Astrology In Real Life: Mars Retrograde Recap
One of my main focuses is examining how the astro weather plays out in the lives of regular people. Sometimes it can help to tangibly see how placements manifest. Here are some examples of what happened during this summer's Mars retrograde: My nephew broke his arm (Mars retrograde in his 1st house of the physical body/health). Injuries = Mars. Got cast off when Mars went direct. His mom (my sister) had the Mars retrograde in her 5th house of ...
Mercury Retrograde Sob Story
Thought I had nothing to worry about since Mercury isn't a main Time Lord for me this year. But when I got locked out of my laptop on the first day of the retrograde via BitLocker encryption (something I never initiated), I had second thoughts. Mercury retrograde was indeed afoot. After two hours of research, seeing every BitLocker thread unsolved, with people losing all their data, I discovered that Windows 10 initiates BitLocker automatically, & I was signed into the Microsoft account for my other laptop, not the broken one. Once I signed into the 2nd Microsoft account, I found the ...
Mars Retrograde (and Out-of-Bounds) in Aquarius
Mars retrograde is already unique; it only happens once every two years or so. This one is made more volatile with Mars out-of-bounds for most of it (July 7-September 24). The retrograde began on June 26, 2018, 5:04 pm ET, at 9º13' Aquarius, & stations on August 27, 10:05 am at 28º37' Capricorn. Aquarius is a fixed Air sign ruled by Saturn that values progress, efficiency, & innovation. Mars can totally get on board with those things, but when retrograde, both Mars & his ruler may experience rising frustrations/irritations. Mars may want to accomplish Saturn's goals, yet run int ...
