Venus enters Sagittarius on November 1st, ushering in a lighter, more adventurous side to your friendships, relationships, and creative endeavors. It’s a particularly good time for parties or other group social situations. You may meet or interact with people from other cultures or backgrounds, or find yourself traveling with a friend or partner. If you felt more like solitude or stewing while Venus was in Scorpio, Venus in Sag indicates that you may experience a renewed interest in going out or interacting with other people.
Venus in Sag is also a good time to set up or restructure an altar if you have one in your home, as traditionally, Venus was associated with temples and holy places. For those with an interest in esoteric topics, you might focus on spiritual or philosophical concepts during this time, for example, exploring great thinkers, learning yoga or meditation, taking or teaching a tarot or astrology class, reading religious texts, attending a spiritual service of some kind, etc. It’s a time to assess the big picture and what you want out of life, and you may find it easier to move forward towards your goals.
Venus in Sag may invite a time when you and your partner grow, learn, and change together. People are inclined to be more honest and straight shooting with their partners, but some may find themselves exaggerating instead. The other lovely thing about Venus in Sag is that she’ll be co-present with Jupiter the entire time, so look for improvements in whichever area Sagittarius governs in your chart. It’s an especially good period for artistic projects and harmonious relations with other people in that zone.
On November 5th, Mars in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn at 20 degrees. This could mean trying to negotiate with a formidable authority figure, or conversations that involve anger, violence, obsession, or jealousy. It’s a day when accidents are more likely to happen. Mars square Pluto is pretty volatile energy, and could lead to protest or rebellion against control in some area of your life.
A retrograde Mercury in Scorpio conjoins the Sun on November 11th at 18 degrees. This is a sluggish, lethargic Mercury, which may leave you hesitant because achieving your goals in this area of life has felt like one step forward, two steps back. Yet it’s also a rebirth of Mercury’s significations while in the heart of the Sun, and the start of a new Mercury synodic cycle. While Mercury is in its own bounds, it is protected from the Sun’s harsh rays, but Mercurial significations like writing, communicating, commerce, technology, etc. may still take place behind-the-scenes until Mercury emerges from under the Sun’s beams. It’s a time to edit and refine projects you’ve already started, or reassess your strategy.
On November 12th, a Full Moon occurs in your Taurus house at 19 degrees. Whatever began to develop around six months ago in that area of life may blossom, culminate, or come to fruition around this time. The Full Moon is opposite Mercury and trine Saturn and Pluto.
Venus in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Pisces at 15 degrees on November 14th, but as they’re both ruled by Jupiter in Sag, this may be more harmonious, and good for artistic or spiritual pursuits. Daydreaming may take center stage, or perhaps you’ll experience some disillusionment within your relationships. You may also discover that someone close to you told a white lie or has been keeping something from you, but with the best of intentions.
On November 19th, Mars ingresses into the sign of Scorpio, and you’ll start to feel the initial effects of the upcoming Mars/Uranus opposition. While Mars is in Scorpio, you may find yourself researching or investigating a topic of interest, or possibly approaching situations with a more strategic perspective. Mars in Scorpio may also bring up desires for revenge or karma, which could lead to allies and enemies being used to gain power and information. Because Scorpio is Mars’s nocturnal sign, the potential for drive and focus is higher here.
Mercury turns direct at 11 degrees Scorpio on November 20th. Reversals are common when a planet moves from retrograde to direct, or from direct motion to retrograde. If you or someone in your life made a decision during Mercury retrograde or its shadow period, it may be reversed around this time. During the pre-shadow, retrograde, and post-shadow cycle, Mercury passes over the same points in the sky three times in a row. This provides you with three chances to sort out whatever issues were brought up during the retrograde. Normally by the third pass, you’ve figured out a solution or come to a conclusion.
On November 22nd, the Sun enters Sagittarius, joining Jupiter and Venus. Sagittarius is the lead-up to the holiday season, and while the Sun is present there, you may find any authority or leadership experiences take on a supportive, enthusiastic tone. You may feel like expanding your mind through foreign cultures, even if it’s just watching YouTube videos from your couch. This is a time of intellectual quests, finding meaning, and sharing what you’ve learned with others.
Two big transits occur on November 24th: Venus conjoins Jupiter at 28 Sag, while Mars in Scorpio opposes Uranus in Taurus at 3 degrees! Mars opposite Uranus could indicate accidents, so take extra caution leading up to this. This transit is about unexpected, unpredictable, yet decisive action. This could revolve around sports or an exercise routine for some of you, as Mars is a particularly energetic planet. For others, it may refer to volatility in relationships with other people, or someone making a sudden decision that leads to disruption and chaos, regardless of whether it’s beneficial in the long run. Mars opposite Uranus is exciting, and you can expect to see tangible results if Mars or Venus is one of your Time Lords when this happens.
Meanwhile, Venus conjoining Jupiter is a lovely transit, the two benefics merging in Jupiter’s home base of Sagittarius. Whatever blessings you’ve experienced while Venus has been co-present with Jupiter may peak or culminate at this time, as Venus is about to move on to the sign of Capricorn the next day, November 25th.
Venus in Capricorn indicates longevity and commitment in relationships, so you or your partner may make a commitment to the other if you’re in the market for that. It’s also associated with making money through your artistic or creative endeavors, or working on a diplomatic matter at the office. On the other hand, Venus may feel a bit stifled by stern taskmaster Saturn, although he will provide the much-needed discipline to complete projects. Venus in Capricorn may also bring up issues of status, image, or the picture of success versus what it actually feels like inside.
A New Moon takes place at 4 degrees of Sagittarius on November 26th, which means it’s time to start something new in the Sag area of your chart. Sometimes, the hint of something new begins on its own, but you don’t realize its importance until later.
Neptune stations direct at 15 Pisces on November 27th, so for about five days before and after the station, Neptunian things may come to the forefront, such as dreams, the subconscious, movies/television or visual arts, spirituality, esoteric matters, idealism, disillusionment, deception, loss, the ocean or anything watery, fog or fogginess, confusion, lack of clarity, etc.
Last but not least, we have two trines on American Thanksgiving, which falls on November 28th this year. Mercury in Scorpio trines Neptune at 15 Pisces, while Venus in Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus at 3 degrees. Mercury trine Neptune is perfect for poetry, songwriting, or other artistic pursuits, so if you’re driving to a loved one’s house, perhaps mix up some music and lyrics on the way! Sometimes transits are as simple as discussing a trip to the ocean or a favorite movie/TV show at the dinner table that day. Both planets are sextiling Saturn within 3 degrees, providing a grounding component to the flightier Mercury and Neptune.
Venus trine Uranus indicates that there may be a pleasant surprise around Thanksgiving, or perhaps you may change up your traditions and try something different. It invigorates relationships and friendships with the lightning bolt of inspiration and fresh new ways of looking at things. While the Mars/Uranus opposition is still in orb, but separating, overall, the Thanksgiving transits appear pretty benign and enjoyable – a great way to round off the end of the month.
